Quality Forum

Purpose:

The Quality Forum is an independent body whose purpose is to direct the effective operation of the ALA Quality Mark scheme. The Quality Forum reports to the ALA Board. In its role of safeguarding the integrity of the ALA Quality Mark .

the Quality Forum is responsible for:

• Developing the Quality Mark framework, including tools and support infrastructure.

• Approving awards of the Quality Mark.

• Monitoring the implementation of policies and procedures and recommending changes where appropriate.

• Formulating policies and procedures in relation to the management of the Quality Mark accreditation process.

• Making recommendations to the ALA Board on matters relating to the Quality Mark and its operation.

• Delegating to others to undertake defined activities on its behalf as required.

• Reviewing its terms of reference annually and recommending amendments to the ALA Board as required.

• Reviewing the selection criteria for Quality Forum members.

• Reviewing the selection criteria for Quality Mark Advisers and Verifiers.

The ALA Quality Forum will consider recommendations and make a final decision on the award of the Quality Mark.

The constitution of the Quality Forum ensures that all interested parties are represented and that the Quality Mark scheme reflects the needs of all potential applicants.
