Quality Mark Advisers

Verification is an independent, objective consulting activity designed to promote and safeguard the ALA’s Quality Mark scheme. It brings a systematic and disciplined approach to the evaluation assessment of Quality Mark applications.

Advisers are independent consultants recruited by the ALA Quality Forum to assess the submissions of Quality Mark applicants and to make recommendations on awarding the Quality Mark to the ALA Quality Forum. In addition to assessing candidate submissions, Advisers perform a consulting role to identify further issues for consideration in line with the assessment criteria.

Quality Mark advisers are experienced senior practitioners in the broad occupational area of learning. They have a minimum of 5 years professional experience relevant to the Quality Mark criteria they assess and they report to the ALA Quality Forum.
